The 29 coolest, most stylish restaurants in London to book right now

With The Ned’s appeal not fading, it’s good news that this now infamous wonderland of restaurants and bars is a new hangout for guests. On the lower level of the venue, The Parlor is the place to experience a mix of live jazz and cabaret acts, as well as, of course, a delicious menu and cocktails.

Well-known names from the jazz scene play alongside hot new acts on Wednesdays, Thursdays (members only) and Fridays. Residencies include saxophonist and clarinetist Giacomo Smith and his five-piece band; British singer, songwriter and pianist Reuben James; and Seattle-born artist Kimberly Nichole. On Saturday evenings there are performances by the Black Cat Cabaret on the theme of “High Society”, which includes a theatrical experience with singers, comics and burlesque.

The menu reflects the opulence of the area with dishes like the whole lobster thermidor with brandy, parmesan, and English mustard, and the Prime New York strip steak with toasted marrow and red wine sauce.

The interiors of the Parlor are inspired by Art Deco jazz clubs from the 1930s, with details like jewel-colored velvet seats, Murano glass lamps, and atmospheric, gloss-painted walls. It’s the perfect place to escape for the night, like getting a ticket to travel back in time.
