A first glimpse of Preston’s new Indian street food restaurant, Mowgli, was revealed.
The much-anticipated Mowgli Street Food branch in Lancashire was a talking point last year, but it wasn’t until four months ago that plans for Mowgli were announced in the Miller Arcade.
Now plans have advanced again to show what Mowgli might look like in Preston’s Miller Arcade’s former French Connection unit.

Located on the corner of Church Street and Birley Street in downtown Preston, a new application to change the use of a shop to a restaurant has been sent to the community.
In the new plans for taking over the unit, the design of the building has been described as “eclectic in style with some Moorish elements”.
The designs show a dark exterior with miniature brass lamps hanging from the tops of the signs, while the windows are printed with the distinctive Mowgli monkey.
When Ormskirk founder Nisha Katona confirmed the news of a general location at Miller Arcade on Twitter, it was not yet known which entity would host the exciting new venture.

The opening dates have not yet been announced, but Nisha has previously announced that they are expected to take place in spring or summer 2022.
The process of getting the hugely popular chain to Preston was not as easy as was first expected after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK.
But Nisha announced in September 2021 that she had signed a lease for the Preston opening, which she described as “a city that is so close to my heart”.

Mowgli’s life began in 2014 when, following her passion, Nisha wanted to open an Indian restaurant that departed from British curry stereotypes and inspired her to follow her dreams.
She ended her 20-year career as a lawyer and worked hard building the first Mowgli restaurant in Liverpool before setting up the Manchester branch a year later.
In 2018, Mowgli was awarded a placement on the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list, with Nisha receiving an MBE on the 2019 New Year Honors List for Services to the Food Industry.
Nisha as has also appeared on the popular Sunday Brunch breakfast show and can be seen regularly on Radio 4’s Kitchen Cabinet.
