Mike Tauchman has big night in the Giants debut

Did the Yankees make a mistake?

Former New York Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman didn’t disappoint on his debut with the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night.

The Yankees gave the giant Tauchman on Tuesday in exchange for left-handed Wandy Peralta and a player who will be named later.

Tauchman showed promise in a Yankee uniform, hitting 0.266 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs in 141 games. However, he never had the opportunity to play regularly. Despite his potential, the Yankees swapped the 30-year-old for the Giants as there were no longer any options for smaller leagues on his contract.

“A great addition to our bullpen”: Yankees loved Reliever Wandy Peralta

The Giants have lacked stability in midfield this season. They hooked up Tauchman right away on his debut last night.

As a result, Tauchman went 3v4 with an RBI. In his team’s 7-3 win over the Colorado Rockies, he also had an impressive run on the center wall.

“It was exactly as advertised,” said Giants manager Gabe Kapler, according to Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media. “Comfortable in the outfield. In the racket box he is a fighter, very competitive. ”
