FOODIES is thrilling as the Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival returns to town next week.
The annual event could not take place last year due to the pandemic, so visitors have been able to experience the culinary delights of the free festival for two years.
There will be more than 60 food, drink and craft stalls across the city spanning St. Mary’s Church, Angel Shopping Center, Fore Street and the High Street.
A spokesman for the festival said: “In the beautiful Marienkirche you will find great food, drink and handicraft stalls.
“Inside the church, the cafe and tower will also be open. If you haven’t seen the view of the city center from the tower, it’s definitely worth a visit.”
For all attendees new to Bridgwater, more than 20 marshals in reflective vests will be available to answer questions and provide directions.
The festival organizers thanked a number of venues and organizations for their help over the past two years in bringing the event together. These include the Bridgwater Town Team, the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, the Bridgwater Town Council, the St of Aid.
At the event, High Street, Fore Street and Cornhill will be temporarily closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the closure, stewards will be on hand to ensure local access and through traffic will be diverted onto St Mary Street.
