Mike Simpson makes many friends on the political left. He has a new best friend in Earl Blumenauer. Blumenauer is a longtime member of the US House of Representatives from western Oregon. He was born in Portland and grew up on cereal and breast milk. He’s fully aboard Simpson’s sinister plot to destroy four dams on the lower Snake River. The argument is that salmon runs are being restored. It ignores the large fishing fleets that collect salmon in the Pacific!
This is where Blumenauer and his allies break with Simpson. Your focus is on sun and wind.
I’ve been told that the nuclear industry will fund Simpson’s next campaign. While we should build more nuclear systems, Simpson would rely on nuclear systems to replace cheap electricity that is lost in the river system. And it would take years to license not only new facilities but the smaller reactors proposed for manufacture in Idaho’s national laboratory. If new plants were ever approved.
This is where Blumenauer and his allies break with Simpson. Your focus is on sun and wind. Two forms that never meet current requirements. Now imagine if our population continues to grow at the same pace this decade as it has over the past ten years!
This morning I came across a blog post from a tree keeper on the left coast. It praises Simpson. You can read it by clicking here. Note that the author never mentions nuclear power as an alternative source of energy. Instead, she suggests relying on wind turbines and solar panels. Made in places like China.
Incidentally, one of Australia’s best military minds predicts a war with China. Henry Kissinger also warns that this is possible. Could the Chinese kill switches in the technology they’re selling to us? Would it be activated in case of war?
The environmentalists endanger their compatriots.
This weekend, Simpson could be censored by the Idaho Republican Party. He’ll just shake it off and suck up the campaign money elsewhere.
