Where everything began
My father Arnie was a professional footballer and cricketer. As the typical outspoken Barnsley boy, he said, “You’re a football donkey, but you have a chance to make it at the highest level of cricket.”

My breakthrough moment
There were allegations of nepotism during trials and that was difficult, especially when it came from other parents. I was on the Yorkshire Schools B team but a couple of injuries got me into the Ace. I took five for nothing and realized that I had a little on myself.
